As aluminium production increases globally, the demand for aluminium fluoride also increases.Using an average consumption of alminium fluoride 20kg per ton of production of primary aluminium, the theoretical required quantity of aluminium fluoride is considerable.Sinoway is supplying dry aluminium fluoride & anhydrous aluminium fluoride to the world smelters.

General Description

Aluminium fluoride is a white needle crystal powder. Density is 1.3-1.6 g/cc,
Sublimation temp.1272°C.It's slightly soluble in water and greatly soluble in HF Liquid. The chemical property for the high density aluminum fluoride is very steady, but that contains certain crystal water will be decomposed into Al2O3 at high temperature with HF being released.

Types of Aluminium fluoride(AlF3)

aluminium fluoride is produced by three processes :
1. Dry aluminium fluoride process
2. Wet aluminium fluoride process
3. Hydrofluosilicic acid method
Dry aluminium fluoride & anhydrous aluminium fluoride are our main supply.

Main Application

Aluminium fluoride is primarily used in the production of aluminium.
Aluminium fluoride is a critical additive to the molten electrolyte in aluminium metal production. Using today's technologies, it is impossible to manufacture aluminium without ALF3. Adding ALF3 allows the electrolytic process to take place at a temperature around 850°C, which is considerably lower than the melting point for aluminium oxide (Al2O3, mp ca. 1,500°C). As a result of its temperature-lowering properties, ALF3 has a definite energy saving effect.
Aluminium Fluoride is also used in alcohol production for its role as inhibitor of fermentation; for the flux of non-ferrous metals, ceramics and ceramic glaze and the composition of the glaze; and in some organic or synthetic catalysts.
