General Description |

CTP is produced from coal tar by
distillation process or heat treatment of coal tar
and is the residues after the distillation and
extraction of coal tar. The extraction of coal tar
distillation fraction is includes naphtha, phenol
oil, naphthalene oil. wash oil and anthracene oil,
etc. It is solid at room temperature, no fixed
melting point. It appears glass, and change to big
softened, then melted with high temperature. The
density of CTP is 1.25-1.35 g / cm 3. CTP consists
of a complex mixture of numerous predominantly
aromatic hydrocarbons and heterocyclics, and
exhibits a broad softening range instead of a
defined melting temperature. This black solid
material exhibits excellent properties as binder for
anode use for Aluminum |

its products, including low-temperature pitch (softening
point of 30-75 degrees). medium temperature pitch (softening
point of 75-95 degrees). high-temperature asphalt (softening
point of 95-120 degrees) and modified CTP (softening point
of 105-120 degrees) The modified CTP is the high-grade type
in CTP products. |

Main Application |

CTP is mainly used as binder material for
the production of anode for aluminum smelting industry. It
is applied to aluminum and graphite electrode for Electric
Arc Furnace (EAF) for steel industry and other specialty
carbon/graphite such as carbon/carbon composite, refractory
brick, anode for Lithium Ion Battery (LIB) and so forth. |
